Fakeproject - Oversight

Fakeproject was a musical endeavor based out of Fargo, ND for a period of years in the latter 90s and early 00s. Originally, Fakeproject was a two man group but due to some differing viewpoints that emerged over time between the two individuals involved, it wasn't long before Fakepoject became known as the musical outlet for Dan Reetz.

Dan Reetz, I suppose it could be said, was someone it was inevitable that I should meet during my time in that shithole town. He resided on the absolute borders of the EDM/dance music scene there and by way of other sort of electronic music outcasts and art nerds we managed to find ourselves hanging out on the area message board for all things electronic music. Of course, we eventually met in person, played some shows together, collaborated on a couple things I forget specifics of now, and just generally I respected the fuck out of this dude.

He made incredible music, some of the earlier attached to this post, and was probably one of the more genuinely brilliant people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. His apartment was like that of a breakcore mad scientist melded with a top of his class scholar. He did an art project about digging his own grave, wearing a uniform, and other rad shit like that. He's gone on to create this whole subculture of DIY book scanning. He draws a skull on his face every year for Halloween that would scare the shit out of just about anyone. The list goes on.

At any rate. This is his album "Oversight". You can get some more recent material at his website, where you can catch up with all his other truly remarkable adventures and endeavors.

Invisible People Suck (DVD)

Invisible People Suck is a multimedia DVD project from Brian Kubat, also known as Beytah aka MurdaSloth. To be perfectly honest, I don't remember exactly how I got to start communicating with him, but it was 15 or so years ago online. We somehow began working on this compilation project I had dreamed up, which eventually took a shit due to personal crap in my own life. Since and in the meantime, he's gone on to continue making incredible music from the leftfield, as well as visual and digital art projects and beyond.

At any rate, this is DVD project consists of audio and visual fuckery bar none. One clip is slice'n'dice audio and video from the game Halo re-imagined as an incredibly digital hardcore / breakcore banger unlike anything you've seen or heard. There's a short cinematography movie piece. There's a truly offensive clip for another breakcore joint he did. Really, though, there aren't words to describe this project.

I couldn't be fucked to rip the DVD to a single file, but most current media players should be able to play these files like an actual DVD no problem.

You can check the Halo clip I mentioned below, but do get the whole things. It's killer.
